Elland Road chiefs have opened talks with Curacao international Kuwas’ representatives to discuss a potential move, according to Football Insider.
Leeds have been keeping tabs on his form and hope to beat a number of transfer rivals.
Kuwas, under contract with Heracles until 2019, has nine assists and three goals in 14 Eredivisie appearances this season.
Heracles are loathe to lose Kuwas but expect to be barraged with offers when the transfer window reopens.
Despite having a number of attacking options in his squad, head coach Thomas Christiansen wants to strengthen ahead of a play-off push.
“Well I have always expressed that I am happy with the team and the squad that I have,” he said.
“And right now how the situation is inside the squad, I don’t want to touch anything right now and less speak about it.
“Well if that should be the possibility then we will listen to it, but it’s not a priority we have but Victor is working on that if it’s necessary.
“Again, it’s not a must to sign players but of course he is on the market to see what can be interested or not.”
